Tadley Community Primary School
We are joining Basingstoke's Diversity and inclusion project. Promoting inclusion and diversity matters because we all want equality of opportunity for all of our pupils, and for all our children to be the best they can be. Understanding and celebrating (not just tolerating) differences of all kinds helps build our children’s self esteem and promotes a fairer and more equal society, which in turn supports their development, education and wellbeing. We want to help all children at our school feel valued and respected. To help them learn to respond in a kind and fair way to everyone, regardless of shape, size, age, ability, gender, skin colour, nationality, beliefs, language, culture, family background and so on. Read more below on how our vision has inclusion at it’s heart!
We want to talk about each other's differences and be able to answer questions that children have.
We need to tackle any discrimination or stereotyping which we encounter, at school and in the world. We must use our words wisely.
Promoting empathy is key to respecting one another and understanding how comments can be upsetting.
We must ensure no bullying occurs and if any comments are made that we teach children why they are wrong so they can learn from their mistakes.
