Year 5/6 News:

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - May 2019

Well done to all the children in Year 5/6 who produced some wonderful gifts from recycling products.  The children produced a variety of gifts including: plant holders, bird feeders, sock toys, cat houses, pencil holders, ornaments and pictures of endangered species made from recycled materials.   Each child gave a presentation about the gift they had made which showed their awareness of environmental issues our rubbish is causing.  Mr Warner (one of our Governors) watched many of the presentations and asked the children questions regarding the products they had made.

Electricity - May 2019

This term we have been learning about electricity and how to create circuits.  The children loved creating light, and setting off buzzers!  They compared and gave reasons for variations in how components function, including the brightness of bulbs and the loudness of buzzers.  They recognised symbols when representing a simple circuit in a diagram.
